Oh hello there!
I’m an editor, strategic thinker, and community builder. As the vote.gov director, I lead a team that empowers people to register to vote and understand their voting rights. Our team won the 2024 Service to the Citizen Award for improving accessibility and equity in voter registration. As a dedicated civil servant, I worked with 18F to improve government programs and services for the public, including SNAP food benefits and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
I started my career in the food world. I was the managing editor of James Beard Award-winning website Serious Eats, the marketing lead for online grocery marketplace Good Eggs, the first blog editor for kitchenware company OXO, and a recipe tester for The New Orleans Kitchen cookbook.
My writing has been published in Bon Appetit, Saveur, Washingtonian Magazine, and The Washington Post.
I’m on the leadership team of Geaux Girl, a New Orleans-based magazine written by and for teen girls. Our mission is to inform, inspire, and engage teen girls while creating spaces for them to share their stories and connect.
